This year's mission trip is to Volusia County, Florida, which was damaged by hurricanes Matthew and Irma in the past three years. This county has still not fully recovered from either hurricane. Additionally, there is a lot of homelessness in the county. Our mission group will work on people's homes and help serve the homeless with meals and other assistance.
If you are at least 15, please consider joining us on this trip. As always, we are blessed to be able to do our part to help those in need. And, as all other trips, this trip has the potential to be a lot of fun.
Here are some other details we are excited about:
We will be traveling by motor coach which will be awesome! Just having a potty on board!! The motor coach is an fantastic new way for us to travel.
We will be staying (in beds!) at the Holly Hill UCC which is about 4 miles from the ocean. This church has converted some Sunday School classrooms into accommodations for disaster support on the East Coast of Florida.
We need those with and without construction skills to help on this trip. Anyone with skill (unlike me!) will be very helpful on work sites assigned to us. And those without specific skill (like me!) are also needed!
Please sign up soon. The sign-up sheet is outside Pastor Laura's office pad! The cost to go will either be very minimal, and probably zero. If you have questions, please ask Steve Stouffer.
